Pull Up a Chair

Every blog has a beginning, though most of us don’t know how long that run will be when we write that first post. Over eight years ago, I hit “publish” without knowing where any of this would lead. I just knew I had something to say, and this felt like the right place to say it.

After I lost Ruth, I decided to publish a book. Around the same time, I came up with the idea of creating a “yearbook” for each year I’ve written. I had copies printed for my three kids, myself, and a few others. It’s a collection that captures my stories as they came to me. There was some method to my madness—though not always.

I distributed this year’s book a couple of weeks ago. I have eight volumes now.  A friend of a friend asked how she could start from the beginning, wanting to read the stories in the order they came. So much has happened over the years, and my blog has been my way of sharing my life.

If you’re here now, curious enough to wander backward through the years, I’m genuinely happy. I think there’s something special about reading a story from the start.  I’ve been doing a bit of that myself and I’m the guy who wrote all these stories.  I’m seeing my path once again as it unfolded before me.

If you’d like to begin at the beginning, here’s a link to get you started:  A Very Little About Me – I have a story for you.

From there, you can follow the Next Post link at the bottom of each entry and walk forward through the seasons, the surprises, the detours, and the moments that changed me in ways I didn’t expect.

I’m going to work on a way to get you to jump in whenever you like, but this will get you started.

Stories only matter when someone reads them.  Thanks for doing your part.
