Family

Five

My grandson, Jackson, turns five on Friday.  That’s what Tebos say about birthdays.  We turn.  His Uncle Tee Tee (aka David) turns 51 on Monday the 30th.    BZ turned 49 on the 10th. When we add in our cousins, our family has even more turning days in March.

Young Jackson James came as a bit of a surprise to Ruth and me.  Michael was in his forties, and Kate was almost there, so when we got the call about his impending birth, we greeted it with a bit of shock.  We had just purchased a new pontoon, a new dock, a new car for Ruth, and a condo in Stanwood, Michigan.  Michael said, “So you like new things!”

We replied to the affirmative and then he said, “Well, you’re getting a new grandson.  Stop spending my inheritance.”

Ruth was over the moon, and she stayed there for the first eighteen months of Jackson’s life.  She’s stopped in a few times just to let him know that she loves him.    Here’s a pictorial summary of the last five years.  They don’t capture every moment, but you’ll get a taste.

Happy Birthday Jackson.  You’re not so young anymore.

  1. I might have to re-write a piece I shared in Memoirs about our first grandson who TURNS 5 on Tuesday (Memoir day). Loved the photos and the “turn” thing! See you next week.
