I’m in Vegas today with my boys: Brady, David, Michael and Sutton. We’re celebrating Brady’s twenty-first birthday. Coming here to celebrate such birthdays is a family tradition.
Ruth and I brought David, Elizabeth and Michael when they turned twenty-one and everyone enjoyed the experience.
We eloped to this town in September of 1971. It’s much different now. I prefer the old version.
The mob ran the town back then and everyone seemed happier. The customers were treated fairly. Food and drinks were cheap and comps were easy to obtain. The seasoned dealers I’ve spoken with prefer the old version just like me.
Some of the bad from those days provided some good. Today’s corporate version has more bling but less soul.
I’ve got partying to do, so this post is short. I’m not writing a lot but I’m having fun with my boys.
Some of what we do in Vegas will stay in Vegas but some will be recorded for future generations because some things just don’t change.
